Chef Daron Goldstein
Chef is the only title Daron Goldstein ever aspired to hold. He has been cooking professionally in kitchens on both coasts for sixteen years. He began his career humbly in the dish room of Jake’s Seafood Restaurant in Hull and has been climbing the culinary ladder ever since.
Daron grew up in Hull watching the waves on Nantasket beach before leaving to study at the highly credited Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute in Rhode Island. Degree in hand, he moved to Southern California to work at Sage on Newport Beach. Back on the east coast he spent four years mastering his craft at The Federalist XV Beacon under the tutelage of Robert Fathman and Eric Brennan where he became Executive Sous Chef.
In the Spring of 2008, Daron was awarded the Executive Chef position at District Restaurant & Lounge where he began as Sous Chef. He prides himself on keeping up on culinary trends without compromising classic flavor and technique. He has created an exciting new “Tapas Americana” menu, a twist on traditional small plate dining with an edgy take on classic American fare for the elite leather district lounge set. With an upgraded Private Party menu catering to the highly selective corporate clientele that District hosts for events throughout the year, Chef Daron has brought District to a whole new level.
As with many of Boston’s residents, Frankie Stavrianopoulos initially came here from Queens, NY for an education. While completing a degree in Sports Medicine, he acquired a passion for nightlife. He wasn’t simply satisfied with going out and partying and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to a career in event promotions and planning. He eventually teamed up with Ace Gershfield and Salvatore Boscarino to form 6one7 Productions.
Over the past 10 years, 6one7 has grown from a small company organizing college parties to a leading promotional company. Booking internationally renowned stars, musical talents and DJs for nightclubs, and event spaces, the company has produced countless major events in Boston, drawing a diverse and elite clientele. Not only has Frankie been a major contributor to Boston’s nightlife scene, but he has also been instrumental in expanding the business into an all inclusive event planning, promotions and marketing company. Creativity and originality are two of his strongest suits and his drive keeps him yearning to better himself.
Frankie was the driving force behind the creation of District Restaurant & Lounge a little over two years ago, and as District’s General Manager continues to be a major contributor to its success. Together with Chef Daron Goldstein, he co-developed the new concept of Tapas Americana (American comfort food meant to be shared,) and his hands on approach can be seen throughout. Frankie’s vision led to the creation of the “Right Gin Lounge,” and the uber-chic Moet et Chandon “Bedroom” Lounge at District, heightening table service with organic custom mixers. He is the man facilitating one of Boston’s chicest lounges, and his efforts have helped District earn accolades such as Billy Costas TV Diner “Golden Plate,” Boston Globe “Best of the New,” Improper Bostonians “Boston Best” (07, 08) to name just a few. Located in Boston’s Theater District, the Restaurant Lounge is a place to see and be seen. So visit Frankie there on a nightly basis.
